At the recent, West Wales Health & Social Care Awards, in Pentre Awel, PLANED won the “Working in Partnership” Award, for our work on, “Carmarthenshire Living Well Centre”.
Organised by the West Wales Regional Partnership Board, over 200 were in attendance for the awards ceremony, as part of a wider ‘Ageing Well’ event, open to the public, and supported by a large number of projects, organisations, and charities, who exhibited at the event.
With a strong shortlist of great projects and organisations, within our category, it was a privilege for PLANED to win, and demonstrated the great partnership working we have been fortunate to be part of, with over 30 projects, charities, and organisations, to support our work in creating and leading the Centre in Carmarthen.
With over 700 people attending each month, we continue to work with all delivery partners, to offer free services, free advice, free activities, and a safe, inclusive and safe space, for all our communities.
Chief Executive of PLANED, Iwan Thomas notes “It is so humbling to win this award, which is an award for all the organisations who work from our Centre. Whilst we bring in the funding to maintain the space, the projects and organisations continue to deliver and collaborate daily, to provide a joined up, and much needed suite of support for individuals from across Carmarthenshire.”
The Centre has been open since November 2024, and was created and led by PLANED, with the support of funding from sources including Welsh Government, BT, National Grid, and the Tywi Taf GP Cluster.
