Following a successful stint at the Pembrokeshire County Show, the team from PLANED, have awarded three food hampers and accompanying slow cookers, to three lucky Pembrokeshire residents.
As the main partner for overseeing the Pembrokeshire Local Food Partnership, in association with the county council and PAVS, the project coordinator within PLANED responsible, Sue Latham, led the promotion of the work at the County Show held last week at Withybush.
At the PLANED stand, which was certainly busy with all the community delivery projects being promoted, including community assets, training, local housing and micro enterprises amongst others, the free competition to win one of the three generous hampers and slow cookers, certainly proved popular.
“Promoting the work of the Local Food Partnership, and its 80+ network members, with this competition, enabled us to inform all the people we spoke to, about the many great independent local, community based growers and suppliers we have, as the public completed the entry forms” notes Sue Latham.
PLANED’s Chief Executive, Iwan Thomas notes, “With over 200 entries, we certainly saw an appetite for the competition, and to discover more about the role of the food sector within Pembrokeshire, and its importance for the social and economic well-being within West Wales, as we strive to make sure people know that local can mean affordable, and the wider benefits to the environment cannot be underestimated.”
The three winners, (Monica, Rosemary and Terry), all collected their hampers and slow cookers from the PLANED offices, on the day after the show, and certainly were thrilled to get the good news on their local wins!
