From Community Vending Machines, to Micro Enterprises, and Community Share Offers to Training, with much more inbetween. Visitors to the PLANED stand at this years Pembrokeshire County Show discovered just how much the team at PLANED have been empowering communities across Pembrokeshire, as well as neighbouring Carmarthenshire & Ceredigion in recent months.
Members of the team present across both days of the very well attended Show at Withybush in Haverfordwest, were able to meet with large numbers of the public, as well as many key local leaders, politicians, and organisational partners, to share and promote the work PLANED undertakes on behalf of, and informed directly by communities.
With over 35 years of experience delivering projects that support development and sustainable outcomes, firstly in Pembrokeshire, and now in the last 4 years, expanding into Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire too, PLANED is the primary community development charity in West Wales to genuinely empower and support communities.
At our stand, to align with both our projects on Community Food Vending Machines, and our 15 Community Food Hubs to date, we promoted the opportunity for visitors to register for free to enter into a prize draw for three hampers of local produce from our fantastic local producers and suppliers here in West Wales. The three lucky winners were drawn live online at 4pm on the last day of the show, and all three have been thrilled at winning these great basket of goodies!
Also, in addition to the main stand, with thanks to our partners in Pembrokeshire College, we were able to kindly utilise on of their permanent buildings on the Withybush site, to showcase an exhibition of all 14 graffiti boards from our recent CWBR Youth Aces Project.
Supported by funds from the Police & Crime Commissioner who was also present at the formal launch event on the first day of the Show, the graffiti boards captured the key issues and themes as generated by the PLANED facilitated workshops and sessions between young people and local councillors across communities here in Pembrokeshire.
We are extremely grateful to the national, regional, and local politicians who came to the PLANED stand to find out more about our continued delivery of innovative community led projects, and their collective support for further expansion, working in partnership with other key organisations across West Wales.
The County Show this year saw good weather on both days, generate great crowds, who collectively fully appreciated the showcase of what our collective communities here in Pembrokeshire, and wider West Wales can offer. PLANED was pleased to be present with a larger presence to illustrate and engage on the considerable experience and breadth of delivery we continue to offer in empowering communities with our partners, here in West Wales.
