Carmarthenshire Living Well Centre (CLWC)

Carmarthenshire Living Well Centre (CLWC)

Instigated and led by PLANED, we have with continued financial support from the Tywi Taf GP Cluster, Welsh Government, and our own reserves, have been able to undertake this exciting new project for Carmarthenshire, which demonstrates co-production and alliances in action, and focused on actual delivery.

In response to public demands for better coordination of services, and a willingness from multiple delivery partners to share resources, and co-locate, PLANED has facilitated the development of a Living Well Centre in Carmarthen, which on its opening in December 2024, is the first of its kind within West Wales.

Serving the whole of Carmarthenshire, primarily with over 30 partner organisations, projects and services co-located, and committed to using the facility, the centre – on the grounds of Parc Dewi Sant – continues to host an array of primary care health, third sector and support services, ranging from mental health, dementia and carer support, to information and advice, education, arts and exercise classes, amongst other activities, all for FREE; but providing clients and visitors, with a coordinated, and joined up approach, that empowers the individual, and supports greater collaboration and co production..

From the initial opening when in the first few months we averaged about 300 people per month, PLANED, working with partners, and improving the Centre outputs, communication, and facilities, now see over 700 people per month attend the Carmarthenshire Living Well Centre.

All those who attend are able to access FREE support, services, sessions, and advice, from the many great partner organisations, projects, and services who have co-located and deliver from the Centre.

A monthly timetable of activities is produced and shared widely, in addition to the regularly updated facebook page, for everyone to access and find out more about how they can attend, engage, and be part of this welcoming, open and warm space that is available to all.

The Centre also has rooms for hire, to support meetings, training, seminars, and workshops, with full AV facilities available for use.
